ABOUT

Dioputra “Ilham” Oepangat is a co-founder and partner of Mangkoenagoro, Dirgantara, Oepangat (“MDO”). He is the Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Director at MDO.

Ilham has experience assisting and representing clients in various disputes throughout the Indonesian courts, as well as in international and domestic arbitration forums such as ICC, SIAC, and BANI. Ilham has also assisted clients in complex criminal investigations and litigation at various law enforcement agencies and courts.

Other than his main practice, Ilham has a keen interest in medicolegal disputes (especially malpractice related disputes) and has experience appearing before the Indonesian Physicians Ethics Tribunal (MKDKI).

Ilham has assisted stakeholders in the drafting of a proposed amendment to Indonesia’s Arbitration Law to include principles and technical procedures from the UNCITRAL Model Law, and assisted his past firm who acted as an expert to the Indonesian Supreme Court Drafting Committee on the promulgation of the 2019 Supreme Court Regulation on the “Code of Conduct on State Seizure and Detention of Property as Proceeds of Crime”.

Outside of work, Ilham is a moot court coach of Universitas Indonesia for teams competing within the scope of arbitration and mediation. Ilham also sits as a board member of an international hotel and F&B chain.
